Jacques van Wyk

Owner at J&A Builders

After completing my two years National service, I started working for my father in 1984, who had a construction business in Bloemfontein.
.
I always enjoyed working with my hands and did a lot of the building and renovating myself. It was a privilege to learn the basic principles of business and the building trade as well as the importance of finishing and detail from my father.

At the age of 23 l built my first house that we lived in for nearly 20 years. My dad went into the insurance trade after 5 years and I started my own business. I ran the business successfully in Bloemfontein until 2005 after which we decided to move to Mossel Bay.

New houses in Hartenbosheuwels, Fraaiuitsig and especially Reebok and renovations and extensions in the greater Mossel Bay area followed.

My son, Wiehann (31) who also is a practical individual, has since then joined the family business. It has been such a blessing expanding the team with someone who I know well and who has the company's and customers best interests at heart and who will ensure the continued success and growth of the business into the future.

Client satisfaction & quality workmanship is non negotiable. Personal control and supervision has always been very important, and a good relationship with clients and team means a win win for all parties. A good reputation and working in the building sector is a joy and privilege every day.
