House Rooiels

Painting📍 Hartenbos Heuwels

Years of coastal weather had left this double-storey home in Hartenbos Heuwels faded, cracked and water-damaged, with algae on the roof.

House Rooiels before and after: faded terracotta walls repainted in a clean off-white

About this project

The roof came first. We cleaned every tile with a high-pressure hose and then treated the roof to kill the algae, so it stays clean for longer and the runoff would not mark the freshly painted walls.

Next were the walls. We repaired the water-damaged areas, filled the cracks across the house and spot-primed the repairs so they would not show through the new paint.

The team then worked around the house side by side, from the garage walls and entrance stairs up to the gables, using a coastal paint system to take it from a tired terracotta to a clean off-white. New aluminium gutters and external light fittings went up all round, and the fascias, trims and garage surrounds were finished to match.
